Terms of service

These terms apply when you buy any service or product from The Civil Service Coach ("I", "me"). By booking or paying, you agree to them, along with the cancellation and refund policy and the privacy notice.

Who I am

The Civil Service Coach is the trading name of Daniel N., a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

I'm independent and not connected to the Civil Service, Civil Service Jobs, the Fast Stream or any government department.

What I provide

Career coaching, application support and interview preparation for Civil Service roles, as described on each service, and downloadable guides, templates and practice packs. Advice is based on my experience and judgement. It is guidance, not a guarantee of any result.

No guarantee of outcome

Recruitment decisions are made solely by recruiting departments. I can't guarantee that you'll be shortlisted, pass a test, be offered a role or be promoted.

Your responsibilities

What's included

Each service includes what's listed in its description. Written services include one round of edits, requested within 14 days of delivery. Extra edits, rush delivery and other extras are available as add-ons.

Sessions

Sessions are online by Google Meet and start at the booked time. Please book with the email address you paid with. If you're late, the session still ends on time. Sessions aren't recorded unless you've bought the recording add-on or agreed beforehand.

Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and paid in advance through Stripe. You can buy one item at a time or several together in the basket. Where Klarna is offered at checkout you can choose to pay in instalments; Klarna decides who is eligible and its own terms apply to that agreement.

Discount codes are entered at checkout. Only one code can be used per order, codes can't be used on bundles or toolkits (which are already discounted), and each code has its own conditions and end date.

Guides, templates and practice packs

Your 14-day right to cancel

You have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of purchase. By booking a service that starts within 14 days, you're asking me to begin straight away; if you then cancel, you'll pay for any work already done. For downloads, you're asked at checkout to agree to immediate access, and you lose the right to cancel once your downloads are available.

Your work and my materials

The final documents I write with you are yours to use for your own applications. My guides, templates, practice packs and session materials are for your personal use only and may not be shared, copied or resold.

Confidentiality

I keep everything you share confidential and use it only to deliver your service, as set out in the privacy notice.

Conduct

I may end a service, with a refund for work not yet done, if a client is abusive or asks me to invent experience, sit a test on their behalf or act dishonestly.

Liability

My total liability to you is limited to the price you paid for the service or product concerned. I'm not liable for any loss of job opportunity, earnings or other indirect loss. Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer.

If something isn't right, email info@thecivilservicecoach.com and I'll reply within 1 working day.

Changes and governing law

I may update these terms; the version in force when you buy applies to your purchase. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
